Spectacularity is an inherent characteristic of modern culture. The process of fetishization of records, statistics, and at the same time the pursuit of transgression in every field has become the main exponent of progress in the economy of late capitalism. This also applies to art, increasingly resembling a sports spectacle in which the winner takes it all. So, by analyzing one of the "most important religions of the secularized West," will we be able to get at the fundamental principles governing the world today?
After all, strong gender stereotypes, incessant competition, or the cult of individuals are not just a football field reality. The oppressiveness of these patterns of thinking accompanies us every day on all possible levels, including political and economic ones. The strategy proposed in the exhibition for resisting this situation is humor. Although we won't solve global problems this way, we can at least for a while take control of the course of events. Because sometimes, the best we can do is to laugh off the reality that overwhelms us.
